Christian Counseling for Trauma Recovery

You came near when I called you, and you said, “Do not fear.” – Lamentations 3:57

Do you feel as if you are stuck in time, unable to move past overwhelming pain, fear, and memories?  Have you stopped doing things you normally enjoy?  Are you avoiding certain places or people because of overwhelming anxiety, fear or memories?  Does your mood seem to rapidly shift over the day, and you struggle to understand why?

Have friends and family expressed concern that you have changed?  Maybe they are afraid of a change in your temperament such as sudden outbursts anger.  Are they concerned over new high-risk behaviors you engage in?

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. – Psalm 34:18

After surviving a traumatic experience, fear and other negative emotions and behaviors can take hold of your life. Some of these behaviors can be very damaging, and though they served a purpose that helped you survive, they can lead to more problems. For example, some who struggle with the strong emotions related to trauma turn to drugs and alcohol. I am not here to shame you or stigmatize those who are in bonds to sin, but rather offer faith-based solutions for healing that will help you grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually by working with you through your traumatic experiences at your own pace and in your own way.

"There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off." – Proverbs 23:18

I have faith that you can overcome the challenges that trauma created in your life. To learn more about Christian trauma counseling or to schedule your risk-free initial consultation, contact me online or give me a call at 804-302-0336.
